FRISCO, Texas – Incarnate Word’s Danielle Martinez and Stephen F. Austin’s Kaylee Bizzell are the Southland Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. All Southland Athletes of the Week are presented by MidSouth Bank.Martinez claimed the final weekly track honor of the indoor season, competing for the Cardinals at the Texas A&M Aggie Twilight over the weekend. The junior tabbed a season-best time in the 3,000-meter race with a 10:32.95 clip.Bizzell captured the season’s final weekly field award after a first-place finish in the pole vault for the Ladyjacks also at the Texas A&M Aggie Twilight.Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – Danielle Martinez, Incarnate Word – Jr. – New Braunfels, TexasMartinez ran a season-best 10:32.95 at the Aggie Twilight as she looked to return to form before the Southland Conference Championships taking place in Birmingham, Ala. next Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 24-25).
